Cascade Falls Engagement Photo Session w. Claire and Chris

Once we finished, we then drove about 30 minutes to the parking lot of the Cascade Falls. What usually is a 45-minute hike, took about two and a half hours.

One thing I love about all of the couples that I capture is that each come from mostly different collegiate backgrounds. Claire and Chris both attended Virginia Tech, which is where we first met at the beginning of their engagement photo session. We then went to Cascade Falls.

First off, I was actually a little worried because when I first arrived in Blacksburg, Va., There was this ominous thunderstorm. But it quickly passed by. Once the storm cleared, we walk around the campus for a short mini photo session. It’s a very beautiful campus!

Once we finished, we then drove about 30 minutes to the parking lot of the Cascade Falls. What usually is a 45-minute hike, took about two and a half hours. The length wasn’t because of the trail itself, it’s because the entire trail is very beautiful and photogenic.  There were so many incredible spots, I think we could have spent all day on the trail.

But after walking through the trail we were refreshingly greeted by the bursting cool air of the falls. Even though the temps were 90 degrees, the water was incredibly refreshing and actually quite cold. As you can probably see, we really loved capturing photos around the falls. As I found out, there are typically crowds of people here. But since there were thunderstorms throughout the day, we arrived at the falls to have it all to us. It was just beautifully epic.
